( Gv.13, 5 ).
Gesù durante l’ultima cena coi suoi discepoli… ‘ lavo’ i piedi ai suoi discepoli … poi aggiunse … ‘ vi ho dato l’esempio perché come ho fatto io, facciate anche voi … ‘
Questo comando richiama quello dato dal Signore riguardo al pane ed al calice, riguardo la missione ed il comportamento che i discepoli devono tenere gli uni verso gli altri.
Come non vedere in questo gesto insolito di Gesù un comando e la proclamazione della carità, legge fondamentale della comunità cristiana, di cui la cena del Signore è fonte ed esempio?
L’eucarestia del Giovedì Santo come quella di ogni giorno dell’anno, è il sacramento dell’amore di Gesù Cristo, nel quale dobbiamo avere gli uni per gli altri e l’istituzione del ministero sacerdotale deve essere compreso ed esercitato sull’esempio del Signore, come servizio di fratelli e sorelle nella comunità .
Accogliamo il suo amore e facciamolo nostro : ‘ Fate questo in memoria di mè.

Jesus during the last supper with his disciples… ‘washed the feet of his disciples… then added… ‘I have given you the example so that as I have done, you too can do…’ This command recalls the one given by the Lord regarding the bread and the cup, regarding the mission and the behavior that the disciples must have towards each other. How can we not see in this unusual gesture of Jesus a command and the proclamation of charity, the fundamental law of the Christian community, of which the Lord’s Supper is the source and example? The Eucharist of Holy Thursday, like that of every day of the year, is the sacrament of the love of Jesus Christ, in which we must have love for one another and the institution of the priestly ministry must be understood and exercised on the example of Lord, as a service to brothers and sisters in the community. Let us welcome his love and make it ours: ‘Do this in memory of me.
Jesús durante la última cena con sus discípulos… ‘lavó los pies de sus discípulos… luego añadió… ‘Os he dado el ejemplo para que como yo he hecho, vosotros también podáis hacer…’
Este mandamiento recuerda el dado por el Señor respecto del pan y la copa, respecto de la misión y del comportamiento que deben tener los discípulos entre sí.
¿Cómo no ver en este gesto insólito de Jesús un mandato y un anuncio de la caridad, ley fundamental de la comunidad cristiana, de la que la Cena del Señor es fuente y ejemplo?
La Eucaristía del Jueves Santo, como la de todos los días del año, es el sacramento del amor de Jesucristo, en el que debemos amarnos unos a otros y la institución del ministerio sacerdotal debe ser entendida y ejercida con el ejemplo de Señor, como servicio a los hermanos y hermanas de la comunidad.
Acojamos su amor y hagámoslo nuestro: ‘Haced esto en memoria mía.
